Position Summary The Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as well as providing general support to the Finance department. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role covers a variety of aspects of the accounting function and will require a good baseline understanding of accounting concepts and practices. Work Location : Adaptas, Palmer, MA Key Duties & Responsibilities Accounts Payable Processing of supplier invoices, verification and investigation of any discrepancies. Accounts Receivable Processing of customer invoices and statements, collections of overdue balances, maintenance of deposits and prepayment schedules. Account reconciliations Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations along with supporting documentation. Tax filings Maintenance of Sales & Use Tax schedules and prepares payments. General departmental support Providing additional support to the Finance department with month-end close, financial control monitoring and other activities as required. Reporting Preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports as required by management. Fixed Assets Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma, prefer Associates Degree in Accounting or Business, and 1 3 years experience in an accounting role; or Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Skills and Competencies Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Detail oriented with proven accuracy. Ability to work with confidential data. Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with a persistence to resolve issues and provide options for solutions. Excellent presentational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced, growth-oriented, and time-critical environment. Information Technology Proficient in MS Office Suite with particular emphasis placed on MS Excel. Experience with using an ERP system.
