POSITION SUMMARY: Primary Responsibility of this role is to provide leadership and management for the team of Branch Managers. This position will organize and direct all Branches within your team, in accordance with Bank Policies and procedures to achieve sales and service goals that always aims to establish excellence in customer experience. Additionally, this position will be responsible for achieving established growth, profitability, and customer acquisition and retention goals for your Retail Banking region through alignment with the Bank's objectives in areas of deposits, loans, new household growth, and wealth management, while managing expenses and loss control. Managing the overall function of Retail Branch Banking including retail activities, sales and marketing, customer service, employee management, compliance and audit while maximizing operational efficiency and employee productivity is also expected. This position will also be responsible for implementing and sustaining performance based coaching and the utilization of the business and consumer financial need assessment in all branches while also participating in professional associations and community networking activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Retail Regional Manager Activities (20%) * Responsible for the implementation of the Bank's retail banking strategies to achieve the goals assigned to the Region. * Develop branch banking strategies and corresponding activities to achieve the Bank's Goals and establish performance based coaching as a core activity utilized by all branch managers to ensure retail activities are implemented and done effectively by all branch employees. * Establish the business and consumer financial needs assessment as a fundamental priority for all Branch Managers and Bankers. Direct branch banking to utilize the needs assessment to identify the appropriate department to solve the client's financial need: mortgage, wealth management, business banking. * Represent the Bank of the assigned Branch to participate in the professional associations and community activities for business relationship building. Financial Performance and Customer Relationships (40%) * Responsible for the financial performance and product portfolios of the assigned Branch, which includes deposits (checking account, negotiable order of withdrawal account, savings account, money market deposit account, and time certificate of deposit), loans (CRA, commercial real estate, construction, commerce and industry, trade finance, consumer), fee incomes, and investment product referrals. * Manage the overall profitability through loan and deposit growth, product and service sales, income and expense management. * Responsible for the monthly/quarterly/annually financial performance review of the branches. * Coach and support the financial performance and product portfolios of branches to achieve the Bank's financial goals. * Responsible for delivering consistent communication to the branch managers and teams through weekly 1 on 1 coaching, team meetings, and follow ups. * Lead the marketing campaigns and sales programs of the Bank. * Manage customer relationship development, which includes customer-under-service monitoring, affluent-customer maintenance, affluent-portfolio assignment to sales personnel (Financial Advisor), and customer satisfaction management. * Supervise the Sales personnel (Financial Advisor) and the customer-management activities of branch via timely tracking reports (i.e. Reports of Sales, Portfolio Coding, TCD Renew & Open Retention, and TCD Mature Forecast). * Keep updated with the current market conditions and product and service developments of the local market, and having a strong knowledge of our competitors' products, services, and lending activities. Operation Efficiency and Customer Service (15%) * Oversee the branch banking operation and coach the branch banking operation to provide comprehensive and prompt retail services, which includes operation efficiency (core deposit, non-performance loans, and criticized loans) and employee productivity (direct contribution as well as contributions of loan, deposit, portfolio, revenue, and profit). * Control the costs (provision for credit loss and deposit costs) and expenses (direct and indirect), oversee the cash flow, and assess the resources within branch for meeting the Bank's financial objectives and maximizing the profits. Approve or disapprove transactions within assigned authority limits. * Assist in managing personnel and operating expenses. * Leverage workforce planning with HR department to optimize staffing. * Coach branches' management of cost, expenses, cash flow, and resource allocation to meet the Bank's financial objectives. * Coach the customer services excellence, client complaint corrections and resolutions of branches to deliver a consistent and positive customer experience. * Implement strategies to resolve customer issues and complaints in timely, professional, and effective manner. * Act as a liaison with other departments to resolve customer or employee issues. Employee Management and Development (25%) * Supervise the employees of the assigned Branch to achieve the Bank's employee productivity. * Establish the annual goals and supervise the daily performance of the Branch employees. * Coach and support Branch Managers to achieve their annual goals set by Head of Retail Banking. * With the Head of Retail Banking assist in creating an environment in which all branch employees excel and achieve their MBO objectives by managing a strong sales, service and operating culture that embodies the excellence that we endeavor at the Bank. * Ensure that all employees under supervision is familiar and complies with all applicable Bank's policies and procedures as well as governing laws and regulations. This includes but is not limited to: * Performing all assigned duties under the Bank's compliance programs and related laws & regulations. * Successfully completing all mandatory training on related Bank's and BSA compliances as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner. * Responsible for the performance reviews with each employee of the Branch to clarify contribution, strength, and weakness for development plan. * Responsible for the performance reviews with Branch Managers and provide recommendations to Head of Retail Banking to manage the 2nd-level performance review. * Manage the overall manpower allocation (i.e. employee inter-transfer and short-term relocation for manpower-shortage) of the assigned Region. * Provide ongoing guidance, coaching and training to branch employees to ensure they are able to perform their job effectively and arrange training activities (i.e. online/in-house training) to the employees under supervision and ensure the training activities are completed in the timely manner. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and boards of directors. * Ensure that all retail activities within the assigned Branch are in compliance with related Bank's financial and government laws and regulations. * Perform related duties, as required, for the training and development purpose. * Perform all assigned duties under Bank's compliance programs and related laws & regulations. * Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank's and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned and in a timely manner. Education, Experience and Skills Required: * Bachelor's degree or above in related field is preferred. * 8+ years of experience as a branch manager in the branch banking industry is preferred. * Comprehensively understanding of the operation of branch business and retail services. * Knowledge of financial statements and related Bank's laws and regulations * Strong sales and marketing as well as business development skills * Ability to manage and lead a team. * Familiar with e-Commerce, e-Banking and Branch Banking-related technology * Life License is required, and other license required by the Bank's business strategy is a plus. * Fluent in Mandarin preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less. COMMUNICATION DEMANDS: * Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Some travel may be required.
