Job Description:
DescriptionThe Staff RN uses the nursing process to deliver
nursing care to a given patient care population as it relates to
the care setting. Nursing care is based on the interpretation and
execution of the medical and nursing plan of treatment utilizing
established procedures standards and protocols of individuals
within the assigned work shift. The Staff RN provides nursing care
to the population served in the unit.Core Competencies

- Minimizes the potential for injury to the patient related to a
surgical procedure.
- Obtains patient history, surgical and anesthesia consent as
required.
- Provides appropriate procedural explanation, pre, intra and
post procedure.
- Identifies normal physiologic changes after childbirth.
- Identifies post partum complications based on assessment.
- Differentiates between normal and abnormal signs and symptoms
of the post partum patient.
- Initiates comprehensive interventions to prevent further
complications.
- Designs individualized plan of care based on the patient's
needs.
- Collaborates with other healthcare teams based on the patient's
needs.
- Assists patients of fetal demise with the grieving process by
listening, crying, using touch, acknowledging the loss and
encouraging patients and families to be patient with
