The Platform Security Architecture team shapes the security strategy for Akamais Cloud Platforms. We work cross-functionally to design scalable solutions that strengthen security across deployment, configuration, and control systems. Our team partners closely with engineering and product groups to identify gaps and define requirements. We focus on enabling secure development while aligning with business and product goals. As a Senior Architect, you will drive innovative security solutions for our platform components and services. Your focus will span key areas such as software and configuration deployments, databases, and control plane systems. You will play a critical role in shaping secure, scalable architecture across these domains. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for: • Demonstrating architectural leadership and technical expertise by owning end-to-end designs, focusing on meeting defined objectives around security, scalability, availability, reliability, and performance. • Supporting the full product life cycle - ideation, implementation, operation. • Working across stakeholders - Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and InfoSec to satisfy their needs/requirements in the design process • Socializing and building consensus around architectural decisions to provide stable and secure products • Solving complex security problems across both the platform and products. Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: • Have 10 years of relevant software engineering and design experience and a Bachelors degree or Masters • Have programming (e.g,. Perl, Python, Go) capabilities to help prototype new product ideas and concepts • Have experience with software and hardware vulnerability management, and tools e.g. Tenable, Vulcan Cyber, Trivy, SonarQube, etc. • Be familiar with security concepts such as Zero Trust and secure/confidential computing (e.g., Intel SGX, AMD SEV-SNP, etc.) • Be familiar with Infrastructure as Code technologies such e.g. Terraform, Salt, etc. • Have an understanding of compliance regimes such as PCI, ISO, SOC2, and FedRamp • Have knowledge and experience with hypervisors such as KVM and QEMU, and open source technologies and standards such as CNCF and Open Compute Project FlexBase, Akamais Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
