Job Description:

Job Description The Exhibit and Sales Specialist is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer relations and connecting with prospective customers to generate sales. Their duties include making cold calls to sales leads and following up with existing customers to sell exhibits, program sponsorships and SAMPE 365 advertising products - while maintaining documentation of activities in SAMPE's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This position has interdepartmental dependencies, working closely with the Conference, Education, and Events departments. Duties and Responsibilities --- Provide customer service to exhibitors, sponsors, and partners --- Collaborate directly with sponsors to ensure timely fulfillment of sponsored items such as signage, tote bag inserts, etc. --- Responds to exhibitor inquiries about event programs and exhibitor services. --- Works on the exhibitor service manual and collects exhibitor insurance documents. --- Collaborates with various vendors, including general services contractors, software vendors, and others. --- Maintains CRM, Map Your Show and other software to ensure it is up to date --- Identify prospective customers through lead generation and conversion. --- Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs and identify solutions. --- Be knowledgeable about the sales inventory which includes exhibits, conferences, and SAMPE 365 advertising products. --- Provide regular sales updates to the Sr. Sales Director on sales and pipeline activity at weekly meetings and through maintaining renewal reports. --- Work in tandem with the Senior Sales Director to develop a sales strategy to secure and grow revenue from Exhibit and Conference Programs. --- Work in tandem with the Web Content Developer to fulfill SAMPE 365 advertising and Director of Business Services to develop a sales strategy to secure and grow 365 revenues. --- Capture accurate recording of accounts, contacts, opportunities, and sale activities. --- Review and email completed exhibit space and sponsorship contracts to the Exhibits and Operations assistant. --- Travel to events, working the show floor assisting exhibitors at the self-help desk and other onsite duties as assigned. --- Assists with accounting activities for the Exhibition department, sending invoices/billing, tracking and collections. --- Work with Senior Sales Director on project management of new product development offerings within department. --- Responsible to the Sr. Sales Director for meeting and exceeding sales and revenue goals. --- Achieve and exceed annual sales goals, along with other sales program goals. --- Other duties as assigned by management. Position Qualifications and Requirements: --- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred. --- Minimum 2 years professional work experience with 1 year of telemarketing/sales experience required. --- Manages each day effectively to efficiently and proactively manages their calendar to maximize daily responsibilities (including sales calls, administrative duties and meetings) --- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills required. --- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) product experience required --- Knowledge of sales processes and strategies preferred. --- Experience working for a not-forprofit or technical association a plus. --- Computer proficiency in MS Office required. --- Effective problem solving, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills required. --- Travel requirements up to 20% Company Description The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE -) is a global professional member society that supports material engineers that are changing how the world is made.
