This role is ultimately accountable for resin forecasting, resin transition management, supplier management, supplier allocation management/development, plant-level delivery forecasting. This role supports and drives organizational goals through strategy execution & development for HDPE, vPET, rPET, preforms, and caps for all product segments
Core, Specialty, Bulk, Hot-fill, Sparkling and Contract Manufacturing. This role is additionally responsible for the establishment and management of a network tactical and master planning process, including the development of production targets by week by asset. Other key focus areas for this role include managing the new capacity addition process and managing network supply continuity. This role is heavily focused on process improvement, technology roadmap, talent development, KPI monitoring, strategy, execution, and cost optimization.Essential FunctionsInjection Parts and Resin Supply PlanningResponsible for injection network capacity management. Lead capacity assessments and recommendations for new plant/product additions, especially for centralized injection subassemblies. This includes conducting cost-benefit analysis, press utilization maximization, mold addition projects, and press addition projectsLeverage network optimization tools such as Supply Chain Guru to develop annual and tactical injection plans to support and enhance finished goods production plans while optimizing cost and maximizing service at or near 100%Development and management of injection production target process in conjunction with manufacturing, including education on downtime costs and holding costsPartner with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to form strategic solutions for resin supply allocation, including contract fulfillment plans and actualization of cost-savings opportunitiesDevelop, plan, and enforce inventory policies, accounting for high degrees of plan variability and machine reliability. Optimize inventory policies based on Plan and enforce inventory policies to optimize safety inventory requirement and warehouse utilizationLeverage systems and tools to develop resin forecasts. This includes annual plans as well as monthly projectionsHold plant team and logistics team accountable to KPIs in relation to on-time production, on-time deployment, and proactive communicationWork cross-functionally to create the infrastructure for data maintenance and data integrity to drive systematic production decisionsWork with transportation team to reduce and optimize network deployment spend by analyzing cost comparison of annual inventory build and static supply routesAccountability to all other injection operation related raw material supply continuity for over 200+ injection presses, inclusive of planned and unplanned downtimeProcess Improvement and AutomationDevelopment and execution of tactical planning, master planning, and annual planning process for resins and injection, driving alignment with Procurement and ManufacturingLead process establishment and improvement for the injection planning team with the intent of automation, systematization, and alignment with other departmentsGather and develop requirements for process implementation and IT initiativesStrong understanding of systems, with preferred background in Oracle EBS, Logility, and optimization tools. Understanding technology and IT limitations is critical in managing improvement projects.Ability to lead technology integration with suppliers
